Our Story

The Old Schoolhouse has stood in the heart of Swords since 1834. Built as an infant school and today a protected structure, the building has been welcoming people through its doors for almost two centuries.

These days it's a traditional but modern Irish pub and restaurant — recently refurbished, four kilometres from Dublin Airport, and known across North Dublin for locally sourced steak and seafood. The kitchen serves an extensive menu with great early-bird and daily specials seven days a week.

Downstairs in the bar you can settle in for live music Thursday to Saturday, catch the big matches on our screens, enjoy a steak from the bar food menu, or simply relax outside in our beautiful all-year beer garden. Old schoolhouse character, a proper pour, and a warm welcome — that's the Old Schoolhouse.
